MADESTA AG has been supplying components for tubular wind towers and storage tanks to the European market since 2000.

Over 10 years, MADESTA AG has shipped more than 500 000 tons of various prefabricated steel parts and products to its clients all over Europe. Manufacturing process has been held within the framework of partnership with Ukrainian plants — Kherson and Nikolaev shipyards.

In 2006, following the rapidly growing demand for components for wind towers, company shareholders decided to start building of a new steel processing facility in Sevastopol, Ukraine — Metal Service Group (MSG). The plant was set in operation in September 2009.

At present MADESTA group of companies includes Sales office MADESTA AG (Basel, Switzerland), representative office in Ukraine (Dnipropetrovsk) and in Denmark (Esbjerg) and production plant MSG. Management is realized through MADESTA representative office in Ukraine (MADESTA Ukraine). Representative office in Belgium (MADESTA Benelux) is to be established beginning October 2011.

Metal service center MSG is specializing in the processing of heavy plate and other flat products and offers the following steel treatment services:

• Shot blasting
• Thermal cutting
• Beveling (welding preparation)
• Plate bending
• Grinding
• Welding
• Drilling & machining

We have been supplying steel components to industries such as:

• Wind energy — components for wind tower segments and inner parts
• Petrochemical, nuclear and food industries — components for tanks and reservoirs
• Ship building and repair — components for ship building and repair
• Construction equipment — components for road-building and loading equipment
• Bridge construction — components for bridge spans etc

Wind energy sector is of a particular importance to MADETA. MSG plant is the only manufacturing facility in Ukraine specializing in the processing of plate for tubular wind onshore and offshore towers. As a next step MADESTA plans to build the first complete tower manufacturing facility in Ukraine

Over the last 5 years R&D department of MADESTA has been developing a brand new kW-class wind energy generating unit. The result of development is the Tower wind turbine (TWT), which has proved to be up to several times more efficient than conventional wind turbine generators in the same class.
The turbine is targeting the US and European markets. MADESTA is currently looking for a partner to bring the prototype to the mass production.

Among the clients of MADESTA are such well-known wind turbine producers as Siemens (Denmark), Gamesa (Spain), Nоrdex (Germany), Alstom/Ecotecnia (Spain), Acciona (Spain) and oil storage tank builder, Verwater (The Netherlands).
